Hi and welcome to easyandglutenfree!
If you’ve clicked on this site, I guess it’s because you are looking for tried and tested, easy and delicious gluten free recipes, right?
Well you’ve come to the right place
So let me tell you a bit more about myself:
I’m Sophie, I’m 47 years old and I live in Switzerland with my British husband, John, and our four children. I was born in England but grew up in Switzerland; then I met John and lived in England again with him for many years, before we came back to settle in Switzerland. With a British dad and a Swiss mum, I really am a total mix of both nationalities and cultures. The reason I’m telling you this, is that my cooking reflects this – on this site you’ll find recipes inspired from both my countries.
I’m not a chef, doctor or nutritionist, but I love good food! And I have Celiac’s disease.
When I was first diagnosed with the disease, in 2010, I thought sticking to the gluten free diet would be really hard. I used to LOVE bread, you see… nice crusty baguettes and croissants on Sunday mornings were my absolute favourites. If I had to choose between a piece of fresh bread and some Swiss chocolate, I’d choose the bread – every time. So going without it was difficult for me to imagine! But as much as I loved bread, bread obviously didn’t love me, and if I wanted to get better, I had no choice but to get on with it. So I decided to start exploring the world of gluten free options, and through trial and error, I found and invented some great recipes – not only great bread recipes, but also many others, for all sorts of other foods.
This site is going to be the home to all those lovely recipes. I want to share them with you, so you can enjoy the taste of good, homemade, delicious gluten free food.
Bon appétit!
